Most Americans have a hard time when it comes to saving money. However, with the rise of the internet and e-commerce, can you blame them? We can now buy things with the click of a button and have the good shipped to our house the next day. Consumer spending is a disaster in America. If you feel like you’re having a hard time saving money, this article’s goal is to help fix that problem. Let’s get started!
1. Set a budget
Every month, you and your family should sit down and write out a budget that is unique to that month. Every dollar that comes in should know where it’s going for that month. It’s not a shock that most families fail to do this. In fact, this is most likely the reason they’re struggling financially.
2. Don’t buy what you can’t afford
This is also common sense but many Americans fail to abide by this rule. A lot of people work off of instant gratification and want everything at an exact moment. Because of this, they end up putting everything on credit cards only to reach the end of the month and not able to pay it off. If you’re broke, I’d personally stay away from credit cards. Instead, take the money you need out of savings. This will ultimately make you think twice about your purchase, allowing you to make a more informed buying decision.
3. Save at least 15%
Most Americans have less than $1,000 saved for retirement with their only hope being Social Security. However, you must also make it a goal to push away 15% of your income every month into savings. If you’re budget is to tight and you can’t make the 15%, focus your attention on increasing your income. Also, save up a emergency fund of 3-6 months of your expenses. For example, if your monthly expenses cost $2,000, save up $6,000-$12,000 for emergencies. This will ultimately lead to more financial discipline and financial freedom in the long run.
When it comes to investing, many people just have no clue how to invest nor do they realize what they’re investing in. Many people use either use financial advisers to help them invest or they put their money into a 401k for retirement. However, these activities create situations where you don’t have access to your money. In this article, I’m going to be breaking down the basics of how to invest along with how to use technical analysis to know what to invest in. Let’s get started!
1. Buy low, Sell high
This one is pretty common sense but most people get it mixed up. A lot of investors will invest even after a stock has taken off. You don’t want to do that. Instead, you can take advantage of a recession by investing in high quality companies at a low stock price. Many people view declining stock prices as a bad thing. During a recession, you are merely purchasing a stock at a discount. In other words, you get more bang for your buck!
2. Know a stock’s support and resistance levels
When a stock fails to exceed a certain price multiple times, this is considered a resistance level. Similarly, a stock’s support level is a price that a stock fails to fall under. When the price of a stock exceeds a known resistance level, this resistance level becomes a new support level and vice versa. In other words, old resistance levels become new supports levels and old support levels become new resistance levels.
3. Get to know what you’re investing in
Before you invest in anything whether that be a business, a stock, real estate, or a bond, do your research and make sure it’s an investment you’re familiar with. Never invest in something you don’t understand. Also, never risk more than you’re willing to lose on a certain investment.
All in all, I hope these tips can help you when it comes to investing.
A student from the University of Oxford has won the 2018 Science Photography Competition organized by the United Kingdom’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council; his amazing entry shows a single atom of strontium, the alkaline earth metal classified as number 38 in the periodic table. The atom in the photograph, which was captured by an inexpensive digital camera found in most electronics stores, appears in the middle of two electrodes emitting an invisible electric field that keeps the atom afloat.
The atom was isolated within a vacuum chamber storing a device known as an ion trap. The strontium atom was trapped between two electrodes situated about two millimeters apart. In the photograph, the atom appears right in the middle of the electrodes, and it is clearly visible when the size of the high resolution image is expanded.
To capture this unique shot, scientists at the atomic lab pointed a laser that displays a blue and violet glow. Knowing that strontium is an elements that absorbs and reflects light particles, the photographer set up his camera to take long exposure images; the idea came to him after learning about the lighting tricks used by scientists to visualize atomic activity. After thinking about different methods he could use to bridge the quantum and everyday worlds, the photographer drafted some calculations that seemed promising. The equipment used included a standard camera, a tripod and a timer; it took a single afternoon and a few takes to get the photograph just right.
To get an idea of the incredibly small size of the atom at the center of the award-winning photograph, it helps to imagine that more than a billion atoms can fit inside a red blood cell; in turn, a million cells can easily be glimpsed inside a drop of blood when placed under a microscope.
When looking at the photograph, viewers should keep in mind that they are not actually looking at the atom itself, which is invisible to the naked eye; they are looking at light particles reflected off a single atom.

This is good news to all medical professionals, especially those who want to concentrate on the different modalities of cancer treatment. Cancer Treatment Centers of America is inviting applications from doctors and related healthcare workers, even management talents outside of medicine, to serve in one of their hospital facilities in the United States. CTCA has many positions waiting for those who qualify for the job. Its headquarters is located at Boca, Raton, Florida.
CTCA, a for-profit, national network of five hospitals is focused on the treatment of patients suffering from all types of cancers. It was established in 1988 by Richard J. Stephenson after cancer took his mother’s life. He didn’t like the cancer treatment options available at that time so he founded CTCA to be a hospital that offers additional modes of cancer treatments aside from the conventional modalities. The first CTCA hospital that opened is in Zion, Illinois, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center. From 2005 to 2012, four more CTCA hospitals opened. Today, CTCA is offering what they call integrative cancer treatment options. They are creating a combination of various types of cancer treatments based on the needs of a particular patient. It is not the one-cure-for-all approach of most methods of cancer treatments. CTCA offers medical services for cancer patients that include comprehensive medical services, state-of-the-art technologies, assessment of genomic tumors, and evidence-based supportive therapies designed to alleviate the side-effects of cancer treatments. All of these services are delivered by CTCA’s medical professionals in one roof.
Since CTCA combines conventional cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, surgery, etc., with integrative therapies to manage side effects, its five hospitals are always on the lookout for medical professionals who will fill up the many positions that each of the hospitals will need. Job opportunities at CTCA include positions for physicians, medical personnel for clinical and patient support, management staff who will be responsible for the professional and management needs of the hospital, and administrative staff to handle the administration and hospitality services of CTCA. On a regular basis, CTCA also welcomes applications from students and recent graduates to undertake their internships at its facilities. Many medical professionals have started their careers at CTCA.
CTCA considers their employees as part of their family and they are referred to as stakeholders because of the stake they have in the capability of the hospital to fight cancer each day. The hospital values the effort of each stakeholder and rewards them for their efforts by way of its incentive program called Stakeholder-to-Stakeholder. CTCA takes good care of its stakeholders, the way it takes good care of hundreds of cancer patients. It provides each stakeholder all the support they need to ensure their success within the organization and in their chosen profession.

The falling price point and increasing sophistication of today’s smartphone cameras has been a real game changer for both professional and amateur photographers alike. Equipment costs and the inconvenience of lugging gear from one shoot or location to the next are no longer the obstacles that they once were. Th right add-on equipment and access to the latest range of mobile applications can allow smartphones to take digital photographs that may be able to rival conventional cameras in terms of quality. Future generations of smartphones will be able to offer an even greater range of performance features and options that photography enthusiasts would do well to consider.
For decades, single-lens reflex cameras (SLR) were the standard equipment option for those who wanted to ensure high-quality or professional results. While the technology behind digital cameras dates back several decades, it wasn’t until the 1990s that consumer-grade digital SLR (DSLR) and point-and-shoot models began to see widespread use. As quality and pixel density began to increase and equipment began to fall in cost, DSLR camera began to supplant their conventional film-using counterparts. While the established design style of DSLR cameras, with a conventional camera and an attachable lens, would remain the industry standard for years, smartphones offer an alternative that is proving to be increasingly viable.
More cost-effective camera equipment is making it easier than ever for aspiring photographers to get started with the hobby. The most powerful and full-featured phones can even provide established professionals with an equipment option that is easier to transport and may be utilized in a greater range of situations and environments than bulkier cameras. While there is still no substitute for a SLR or DSLR for professionals, future generations of smartphones may soon be able to replicate the full range of features found on the most sophisticated modern cameras for a fraction of the overall cost.
The Foam art gallery in Amsterdam in the Netherlands is currently hosting a photography exhibition entitled “Back to the Future”. The exhibition’s goal is to provide space where photographs from the earliest period of photography will hang next to the work of contemporary artists working in the photographic medium.
One of the works that is drawing significant attention at the exhibition is a set of three photographs by Sylvia Ballhause. When visitors first look at these three photos, they don’t understand what they are looking at. It seems as if no representative image is present. However, upon closer inspection, visitors can make out a view details of a city.
What they are actually looking at are some of the first daguerreotype images done by Daguerre in 1839. These three images have deteriorated extensively. Ballhause photographed the old images so that she could present them at the “Back to the Future” exhibition.
The oldest original photographs on display at Foam are cyanotype images of ferns. These were done by Anna Atkins in 1853.
There are 25 photographers whose work is on display. The work of the photographers ranges from representative photographs to more abstract photos. Various techniques were used by the artists in developing and displaying their photographic art.
The organizers of the exhibit have the goal of allowing those in the younger generations to get a glimpse of the development of photography. They want this generation to see how a variety of techniques can be used to achieve stunning colors and representations. Exhibit organizers want people to realize that photos can be taken without using the Smartphone.
Some of the photographers whose work is on display are highly regarded in the art world. Prominent artists whose work is featured include Matthew Brandt, Jaya Pelupessy, and Felix Van Dam.
