How to get into shape

A lot of Americans are very misguided on what it actually takes to get into great shape. In fact, the overall process is very simple if you break it all down. Unfortunately, it is going to be a lot of work and you are going to have to be committed to your fitness goals. In this article, I’m going to be breaking down the three simple steps that I have used and implemented to get into great shape.

1. Diet
Diet and nutrition is by far the most important part of getting into great shape. Your body is basically a mirror of your overall diet. If you eat crap all day, you are going to look like crap. There is a very direct correlation between what you eat and your health. You should be focusing on hitting your macros daily and consuming healthy foods like lean beef, salmon, nuts, vegetables, and others. If you don’t make diet a priority, you are doing yourself a disservice. You’ll never reach your true fitness potential if you don’t consume great foods for your body.

2. Workout
Your workout routine is the second most important factor to consider when getting into shape. Your workout should align with your fitness goals. For example, if you are looking to build great size and muscle, you should probably structure your workout around compound movements like bench press, shoulder press, squats, and deadlifts. If you are looking to slim down a little, structure your workout around high-intensity interval exercises like jump rope, sprints, burpees, and mountain climbers. By doing this, you’ll get the best results. Moving forward, make sure you continue to push yourself every day in the gym.

3. Sleep
Sleep is very important because it balances hormones, gives you energy, and ultimately rebuilds your body. If you aren’t getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep every single night, you won’t see great results. In the end, keep your sleeping schedule as consistent as possible.
